The aim of this work is to reduce the labor intensity of operations in the design and manufacture of products in mechanical engineering through the automation of dimensional chain calculations. To achieve this goal, the tasks of developing a simulation model, algorithm, and software for calculating dimensional chains are being addressed. Analytical research methods are used, including simulation modeling that allows generating dimensional chains according to random distribution laws and taking into account technological and design features of obtaining chain link dimensions. The paper examines schemes and a library of base classes that reflect the main objects of dimensional chains, as well as a dimension generator that enables simulating the formation of a chain dimension considering tolerances and in accordance with the expected distribution law. The program interface is presented, including the simulated dimension, dimension distribution law, main menu, visualization area, and simulation results. Examples of program implementation for each interface window are shown. The research results can be used in modeling dimensional chain calculations using the Monte Carlo method and allow evaluating the parameters of the замыкающего link based on the probabilistic characteristics of the links included in the dimensional chain.
