Artificial intelligence at the current stage of development poses a number of challenges to manufacturers in the field of light industry and fashion. Thus, solving these difficulties will help enterprises gain a competitive advantage and develop the industry of their country, which determines the relevance of research in this area. The
purpose of the study is to analyze the capabilities of artificial intelligence in the fashion industry, the specifics of machine and deep learning, as well as the concepts of "weak" and "strong" AI. The objective of the work is to determine the possibilities of using technology, in particular generative models, in various areas of fashion and consumer goods industry: marketing, strategy development, logistics, recommendation systems, as well as in the creation of design projects for clothing, footwear and accessories. The work mentions the use of convolutional neural networks in the fashion industry, describes in detail the principles of image generators (generative adversarial networks GAN and diffusion models), and analyzes the stages of fashion designers' activities from the point of view of integrating AI tools. Despite a number of advantages, AI can make significant errors and malfunction under certain conditions. Attention is given to recommendations for working with image generators to avoid creating unwanted content.
